About the Book 

This book is divided into five chapters. Chapters one is a brief outline of the history and culture of Tajikistan. In the sequel chapter two, socio-economic and political scenario of the country has been discussed. Chapter third is dedicated to the impact of Sovietization during Soviet period and independence after the disintegration of USSR on the lives of Russian ethnic minority living in Tajikistan followed by conclusion in the last chapter.

The book has been written as an attempt to find out the situation existing in the country vis-a-vis the ethnic harmony/tensions and the role being played by the state and her people in this direction. The study, based on contemporary and historical documentation of socio-cultural dimensions of the prime ethnos of Tajikistan.
