ABOUT THE BOOK
This book
titled 'Democratic Socialism: Boon or Bane, A Critical Analysis with Reference
to the Indian Model' is based on my innovative thought. The idea of writing
came forth in my mind when I was working on my LL.M dissertation titled as
'Relevance of Marxism in the Modern Theory of Social Welfare State: An Overview
of Indian Constitutional Law' submitted to the Bundelkhand University Jhansi
Uttar Pradesh, India during 2009 -2011, While I was interacting with the
subjects of Judicial Process, Jurisprudence and Constitution New Challenges, I
alarmingly noticed a great divide between theory and practice of democracy and
socialism that is between law in books and law in action. I explored
"Misrule of Law" in practice in the name of theoretical "Rule of
Law". I have demonstrated a tool of suitable illustrations to prove my
theory. Thematic Epitome is self-explanatory pictorial depiction of solemnity
of directive principles. This book contains 18 tables and 11 flow charts making
the tedious thoughts easier to be grasped by average reader. This is an
extraordinary feature of this book usually not found in legal and political
texts. This work will enlighten the scholars by making them able to find
systemic lacunae. Critical analysis of basic principles like democracy,
socialism, welfare state, various forms of socialism and its evolution are
unique features nowhere found at one place. An objective scrutiny of the
preamble and second and third parts of the constitution will give rise to new
approach of realism. Brief description of relevant constitutional provisions,
significant case laws and sections of IPC, CRPC and other Acts pertaining
especially to corruption, women and child labour will be highly advantageous to
undergraduate and postgraduate students. The book is written with
realist-functionalist approach in context with the largest democracy of the
world and this type of work has not yet been done by any Indian author. It
would be useful to leftist as well as rightist thinkers. Studies of menace of
corruption, women empowerment and child labour in the form of descriptive
illustrations will benefit students writing effective essays and answers to the
questions asked in civil and judicial services examinations. Since I have
suggested means to deal with challenges before the nation and defined certain
new measures too so this book will benefit researchers, executives, jurists and
social rights activists.
High grade LL.B students,
scholars of LL.M, civil and judicial services aspirants, research scholars,
policy makers and other readers of law, political science, public
administration and sociology and human rights activists will be benefitted by
this book.
